Questions & answers

Questions? We've got answers

A few of the questions we hear most — about our hours, what we grow, and when it's safe to plant in the Flathead. If yours isn't here, come ask us in person; we're always happy to talk plants.

Frequently asked questions

When are you open?

Our hours are seasonal — we're busiest and open the most in spring and summer, and we scale back in the off-season. Check the Seasonal Availability page or give us a call before heading over in the shoulder seasons, and we'll make sure you don't make the trip for nothing.

Where are you located?

We're in Kalispell, in the Flathead Valley. You'll find our address, a map, and current hours on the Visit Us page.

What do you grow and sell?

We specialize in geraniums and fuchsias, and we also grow annuals and perennials, vegetable and herb starts, trees and shrubs, succulents, berries, and custom hanging baskets. We offer landscaping and design help too.

When is it safe to plant in the Flathead Valley?

For frost-tender plants — tomatoes, peppers, most annuals — wait until after our last hard frost, which usually lands in late May, often around Memorial Day. Cool-season crops and hardy perennials can go in earlier. We wrote a full guide on the blog, and we’re happy to advise for your exact spot.

Do you grow your own plants?

Most of them, yes. That's the whole idea — we grow what we sell so we know how each plant actually performs through a Montana season, and we can tell you the truth about it.

Can you help me choose plants for my yard?

That's our favorite part. Bring a photo of the spot and note how much sun it gets, and we'll match you with plants that will thrive there. For bigger projects, ask about our landscaping and design help.

Do you do custom hanging baskets?

We do — made up right here. They’re popular for porches and as gifts, and they go fast in spring, so come early or ask us to put one together.

Can I keep my geraniums over the winter?

Absolutely — geraniums overwinter well indoors with a little know-how. We have a step-by-step on the blog and we’re glad to walk you through it.

Do you offer delivery or planting?

For landscaping projects we can help with planting; for everyday purchases it's mostly come-and-carry. Ask us what you need and we'll tell you what we can do.

Still have a question?

Come see us or give a call — we never run out of plant talk.
