Calibrachoa — often called million bells — looks like a tiny petunia and blooms like it has something to prove, smothering itself in small, bell-shaped flowers all summer. It trails and mounds, which makes it a go-to for hanging baskets, window boxes, and the edges of mixed containers, and it comes in a huge range of colors. It's self-cleaning, so no deadheading required. Give it full sun, regular water (containers dry fast in our summer heat), and steady feeding to fuel all that bloom. Plant after the late-May frost.
